About me

I'm a PhD student in Physics at the University of British Columbia. You can email me if you so desire. Most of the work I do on the site is on Physics Wiki. It is likely to be filled up with goodies as time progresses. Feel free to contribute.

This site

This site was entirely hand-crafted by me using PHP and Smarty. The coding was actually motivated by working on the #flipcode community site, which at the time required a wiki and a unified blog/forum user system. Since I didn't know about any mature solutions at the time (drupal now comes to mind), I rolled my own. The original forum + main page was written in PHP over a single weekend and subsequently an edifice was built over several months. As with most hastily written code maintenance and configurability was a bugger, and a massive rewrite + templatization was undertaken over another weekend. Now I mostly just add content and minor features as I need them.
